Educational and Networking Opportunities for NPDA Members
NPDA provides our members with many educational and networking opportunities throughout the year. We host at least ten educational teleconferences each year. We realize that your time away from the office is very valuable, and frequently hard to come by. Using teleconference as a means to provide education is a much easier and most cost effective way for NPDA to make these sessions available to our members. All of our education is geared towards those who are in leadership and/or management positions in the private duty industry.
A few examples of topics we have dealt with via our teleconferences would be:
- Unions in the private duty industry
- Employment issues specific to private duty
- Legal updates on the companionship services exemption
- Reverse Mortgages, how to work with clients who have them
- Long Term Care Insurance, working with the LTC providers and how to get paid
- Recruitment and retention of caregivers
- An overview of private duty technology, scheduling software, telephony etc
- Marketing, concepts, creating a "niche" market for your company
- Accounting & Finance for "non financial" manager
Our teleconference last no more than an hour and a half, and we ALWAYS provide our attendees the opportunity to have their specific questions and concerns addressed by the presenter. As a participant of any teleconference, you will receive the contact information for the presenter, as well as all the other participants.
NPDA also host an annual "Leadership Conference". This conference is held once a year, usually during the month of March and lasts two and a half days. Again, as with our teleconference, all the topics are geared towards the "leadership" of your private duty company, and all of your staff members will receive the NPDA members only discount. Being able to host this conference allows us, the NPDA Board and Staff to meet you face to face, and get to really know our members. More importantly, this conference allows YOU a great opportunity to meet so many of your peers and follow private duty leaders from across the country. We pack as much education as we can into our schedule, but also allow adequate time for networking at our welcome receptions and other social venues. As an added bonus, our conference also includes a "trade show" that consists of more than thirty vendors. This allows you the opportunity to find out more about the many services that are available to the private duty industry, as well as a chance to "shop" for services that you are already looking to acquire! We truly value and appreciate the sacrifice of time away from the office that small business owners must make in order to attend our conference, and wewill ALWAYS provide you with the most outstanding speakers, topics and "take away" resources that are available.
